Vertical Wind Energy has been funded to date by equity from VC Funds, private investors and with some grant aid. By late 2010, the domestic business in the UK and Ireland will be self funding. At this stage, the business will be seeking further investment to accelerate international growth and to expand the product range beyond the Vertical Wind Energy 3 and Vertical Wind Energy 6 currently on sale.

Our product range has been very carefully cost engineered to give good value for money. The blades can be made by any company that manufactures pulltruded aluminium tubes such as yacht masts. The mast is supplied by any manufacturer of lamp poles or cell phone masts. The generators are manufactured exclusively by the Chinese subsidiary of a major Swedish company, whilst the invertors are supplied by the Italian subsidiary of a major US company. All of this ensures that manufacture and the logistics of supply are entirely scalable.
